Be There in a Prosecco

I’m so grateful to be able to attend events as a fashion blogger and getting to experience new places, new things. I was able to attend an event at the Hyatt Centric South Beach that Y100 hosted for the IHeartMedia event. The hotel is beautifully put-together and located in the heart of South Beach on 16th and Collins. I have to be totally honest, I went through numerous outfits before I came across this little number and it wasn’t a easy process. When I went back for the second time to the Agaci store, I was clueless until I came across this skirt – the structure of the skirt is unique and had everything in one. From the olive color (which is so in for the fall season), to the pockets and the tie around belt … and of course, that slit right in front of the skirt. For the top, I took a risk and was a little hesitant on the color only because red isn’t a fall color but once again, pat on my back because this color combo was knocked out of the ball park. The lace detailing on the shirt is perfect and also, not too sheer so I was able to wear a nude bra. I went simple for the shoes and stuck to my nude Steve Maddens (so comfy), the clutch was also nude to have the focus remain on the top and skirt. Hopefully everyone can stop by the Hyatt Centric South Beach and enjoy a cocktail in the lounge area over looking South Beach. Stay tuned for more fall looks!

P.S. Sorry for the pictures, we had a little mishap and had to use an IPhone to take pictures but they still came out awesome!!! Thank you Jessica, of course the best ever.

Happy 1st Birthday Mimosa and Pumps!!!

Photography: Jessica Rivas

I can’t believe that it’s been one year since I started this incredible journey! Happy birthday to my baby, my pride, and joy. I’m over the moon and very proud of myself for putting on my big girl panties and deciding to start this fashion blog! It hasn’t been easy but it’s been worth every single step. I’m so happy I’ve been able to collaborate with such amazing people like AlectricVisuals and attend so many events, and was even asked to be a special guest blogger for the first time at the Fashom event I attended.

Now on to all the mushy-gushy stuff (I feel like I’m receiving an award! lol), I want to thank everyone – especially my friends and family who have pushed me and told me to follow my heart and dreams and never give up because I belong in this blogger world. I want to thank my mom and brother who put up with my annoying a**! and all my questions: “Does this outfit go with these shoes?” “Does this outfit look good together?” (lmao) ūüėÄ To the most important person, the one I owe the biggest thank you to, is Jessica Rivas. The lady behind the lens, without her my blog would not be here and wouldn’t have the most amazing pictures it has today. I would be so lost without you and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do for me and this blog. I love you and appreciate you so much. To all my love bugs (my followers), my blog would not be as successful as it is without you – thank you all for your constant support, means so much to me, I love you all!!!

On to the fashion portion, my specialty! I wanted to do a completely different look than what I usually go for. I wanted to choose a fancy, classy yet fabulous outfit. I went with this navy blue midi-skirt from Agaci which I instantly fell in love with. I was iffy because of the length and puffiness but the hell with it! My height isn’t going to stop me from wearing this gorgeous piece. For the top: I was debating on this top or a similar one in white lace and decided to stick with this one because I wanted the focus to remain on the skirt and shoes. These shoes are to die for … right? lol I wanted something more appropriate because of the fanciness of the skirt and since I didn’t have much color on, I went with a pop of color on the shoes. The jewelry i went for a very minimal touch because I was focused on the cup of mimosa (duh, it is my blog name) and of course, had to do the balloons and confetti – it’s a party!! Thanks again to everyone that has showed support and so much love, I appreciate it and can’t wait to continue to grow and collaborate on this catwalk.

So I don’t know about y’all but I have to have coffee in the morning in order to even function for the remainder of the day. I decided to go for more of a 70’s look because these House of Harlow high-rise flare jeans are so in style right now and fashion trends from the past are coming back! These jeans are so flattering and hug all the right places. The length of the jeans cause me to wear tall heels or wedges – and when I wear flare-cut denims, I always lean more towards high wedges for that extra “oomph” because god knows I need it due to my 4″11 height! It was only right that I added a camel colored floppy hat to match the color of the heels which you can’t see but makes me feel good inside that I match always. To go with my hat and 70’s style, what better sunnies than circle sunglasses? Yes please! Then, I added this black cross body bag from Forever21. I didn’t do to much with accessories here for this look due to the jeans being the statement and the hat, but I did go with three gold rings and some Alex and Ani bracelets that i never seem to take off. My vision for a 70’s boho vibe came out perfectly.

Pleated skirts and crop-tops, what better combo for spring!!! I know the pleated skirt is loud but hey, if you’re not going to take a risk on your outfits then whats the point of living?! (lol) So I went with touches of hot pink like the necklace, which is so old but comes in handy many times for me when I’m wearing neutral colors and need that loud statement piece. These earrings are so in right now and can go with anything. The cross body bag is also another item I’ve owned for a while now. I took it on my trip to New Jersey and New York a while ago¬†and till this day I still get compliments on it, it’s spacious and fits everything I need in a small bag. The crop top is a basic top from H&M and is so versatile! It can be dressed up or down depending on the look you want. The skirt is perfect for brunch, baby showers, and dinner dates, etc… The color is in right now and not to mention, right up my alley. I added camel-colored heels to the outfit just to tone it down a bit since the focus of the outfit was the yellow and hot pink.

P.S. Sorry for the disgusting nails and hair! I always have them done and for some reason, this day I was a hot mess and the weather was horrible towards the end of the shoot

P.P.S Now, I just had to mention this location! Jesus, I can shoot every look at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. I’m so in love with the old feel, colors, and architecture, it’s beyond amazing!!!¬†

Basic Festival Bitch

I know this is harsh but it’s true and I’m here to help those girls that don’t want to go as dressed up to festivals and think crop tops and just shorts are going to do. If you think neon colors, pasties, bodysuits, high tops, graphic 90’s tee’s are festival material – you’re half way wrong! Unless you attend Ultra, that’s a whole other story because then that’s some what acceptable.
So I decided to take the basic essentials and dress those up just a tad and make a chic-yet-boho look. Crochet or lace are a must for me‚Ķ it’s probably the only occasion I can wear those and not to mention this shirt is crochet, off the shoulder, and cropped. Instead of going for high wasted jean shorts, I switched it up and added color by wearing colored shorts. Since this post is mainly for Coachella Weekend 2, day 2 or 3 – I added a floral headband (which is inexpensive and gives it that final touch) that brings the entire outfit together perfectly.

So with this look, I went for camel-colored snake skin print booties, they are totally fab and not to mention Kendall Jenner wore all snake skin booties this year to Coachella! Add some circle sunnies and your going from “basic bitch” to Basically Fab!

Just because I didn’t attend Coachella this year doesn’t mean I didn’t make my own Coachella while shooting these looks. I brought a speaker to the shooting site and started jamming to Tove-Lo on Pandora the entire time. Jessica Rivas, my photographer, loves when I become playful because it makes for better pictures so I did just that lol. When you think of Coachella, you think of: lace, crochet, fringe, chunky jewelry, killer sunnies, crop tops, and shorts.

I went with an all black look for this years day #1, black overall shorts and the best part about these overalls are the bottom! They have lace trimming ahhhhhhh. I paired them with a black crop top and a crochet, long cardigan which in my opinion adds that Coachella boho vibe. Fringe is a must (duh) but really, what about these Madden knee-length fringe gladiators? Are they perfect or are they perfect?! (lol). Thanks to my mommy for these, they were perfect as a birthday gift, Kisses to my Queen.

Accessories: Every girls fave! I went with a very chunky, statement necklace – so right for this look. I put on all the rings I could find, okay… lying I have a lot more but went with the most appropriate ones lol. Obviously my floppy hat called for the occasion, it’s perfect for this look and my John Lennon glasses – as I call them – which adds to the boho/hippie vibe.

Hopefully, this helped all my love bugs attending weekend #2 of Coachella or this can help you all for next years outfit! Trust me, none of these will go out of style for next year.

imageIf you don’t own a pair of boyfriend jeans because you’re not sure what to wear them with, that’s all about to change. My first time seeing and purchasing boyfriend jeans, I was more confused than Alice and wonderland! Now, boyfriend jeans have become my go to jeans.

In order for me to wear boyfriend jeans, they need to be cuffed and rolled up – showing a bit of ankle. I prefer distressed denim, and I love going up sizes 2 or 3 sizes because it makes them feel like I borrowed my boyfriends jeans (lol). I actually went on the hunt for inexpensive ones, and ended up in TJ Maxx and ended up purchasing these bad boys from Free People for $15 bucks. Yes peeps, I said it, $15 instead of the original price of $90.00, What an extreme jaw dropper!

It’s very easy to lose a look with adding to many accessories; in the second look, I paired blacks, browns, and golds – very neutral, yet dressy. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed sharing it, bye babes!
