Happy Birthday Mimosa

It’s crazy how times flies and the saying: everything happens “in the blink of an eye” is so true. It’s been 2 years that I’ve been in this blogging world and even though it’s not what I envisioned because I wish I could post more often, it’s still something I take pride in and love to do. I’m always saying that I am going to be more consistent with my posts but unfortunately, we live in a world that can get unpredictable – anyway, shut up Cristina! Onto the fashion, please (lol).

“Summer Summer Summer time” Summer is unbearable in Miami, I feel like this year has been brutal … it feels like you’re a melting popsicle that has been left outside in the hot sun. This anniversary I didn’t fancy it up like I did for my first year anni. I went for a very summery look – a loose denim off-the-shoulder dress. This cute little denim dress is light and breathable for being denim material yet if you’re looking for a tighter piece, this dress also comes in a more fitting s tyle. Another item that has resurfaced after being gone for years are choker necklaces. I remember being little and wearing the black plastic ones everywhere and now they are back in style!

I have been looking for the perfect choker necklace and hadn’t really come across any that I fell in love with. I was in Hobby Lobby and decided to roam around the store and ended up in an isle that had every color suede cord and the light bulb in my head turned on to make my own necklaces. So I bought the same color cord as my shoes and made a choker – it worked out great. Onto my fav part of the outfit: my shoes! These heels are so comfortable because they have a chunky heel and the caged look is fitting on your foot. I’m back, bitchessssss!!!!! After a long hiatus, I’m back and I’m here for good (I promise). I intend to stay and slay *Beyonce voice*. The start to my 2016 was very rough and I let that get my spirits down in a way I shouldn’t have. The only good thing I got out of the new year was my awesome boyfriend! Let’s save that for another time, on to the fashion. Spring time has arrived and it’s my favorite season … well, maybe I’m being a bit bias because it just so happens to be my birthday month, too! Happy Birthday to me!!!

When I saw this dress I could not stop thinking about it because the colors just so happen to be the go-to colors announced for Spring. When I first heard of the colors, I was hesitant because I didn’t know how Rose Quartz and Serenity (which are pale pink and pale blue colors) would mix in a outfit. When I put this outfit together – I initially went with a nude bag and a pair of nude heels but then stopped myself and thought: “What would happen if you threw in a pop of color to bring out the dress, Cristina?” It’s true what they say: “Always go with your gut feeling because it will never disappoint you.”
When I saw the outfit hanging on the hanger, I fell head over heels for the color contrast. As for footwear, I went with simple nude heels to keep the focus on the dress and bag … oh and not to mention my crazy hair-bun (lol)! Hopefully this helps you to stretch your color pallet by taking risks and mixing colors you normally wouldn’t. Happy Birthday to me and to all my April/Aries babies! May your birthday be filled with love, health, and prosperity.

Brownie Points

Suede and button-up skirts … can you say yes? YES!!! I know you’re all probably calling me an outfit repeater but sorry, no outfit repeater over here. Even though this style is very similar to the Hide and Go chic post, the only thing that changes are obviously, the colors (but again these colors for fall are perfection: all warm tones). This skirt is comfy and so easy to pair with anything – for this look, I went a little balls deep with suede and threw in horizontal lines, leather, and lace up heels but in my opinion, it paid-off. I felt like a school girl with the backpack but let’s get real, a sexy school girl (lol) Halloween passed, Cristina!!!

The camel color on this skirt is rich and is another trending color for fall. This shirt is quarter sleeve with a scoop neck style but I love the way the outfit pops with the colors, textures and lines. I went with my infamous lace-up heels and, I have to be honest with you girls, is one of my most uncomfortable heels and would not recommend them. It’s like my foot grew overnight because it would not fit in the shoe! So if I had to pick another heel, I would definitely go with black Jeffery Campbell Litas that probably would have made this outfit that much better but … oh well, on another occasion.

This cute, leather backpack is spacious and so stylish! I usually use it when I go on vacations and need a big bag to fit all my junk. I wanted the focus to remain on the skirt and backpack purse so, I went light on the accessories. Hopefully, you enjoy this look and stay tuned for more future fall looks!

Be There in a Prosecco

I’m so grateful to be able to attend events as a fashion blogger and getting to experience new places, new things. I was able to attend an event at the Hyatt Centric South Beach that Y100 hosted for the IHeartMedia event. The hotel is beautifully put-together and located in the heart of South Beach on 16th and Collins. I have to be totally honest, I went through numerous outfits before I came across this little number and it wasn’t a easy process. When I went back for the second time to the Agaci store, I was clueless until I came across this skirt – the structure of the skirt is unique and had everything in one. From the olive color (which is so in for the fall season), to the pockets and the tie around belt … and of course, that slit right in front of the skirt. For the top, I took a risk and was a little hesitant on the color only because red isn’t a fall color but once again, pat on my back because this color combo was knocked out of the ball park. The lace detailing on the shirt is perfect and also, not too sheer so I was able to wear a nude bra. I went simple for the shoes and stuck to my nude Steve Maddens (so comfy), the clutch was also nude to have the focus remain on the top and skirt. Hopefully everyone can stop by the Hyatt Centric South Beach and enjoy a cocktail in the lounge area over looking South Beach. Stay tuned for more fall looks!

Hide and Go Chic

Once again, I’m a little bit late to the fall trending pieces however, I work full-time so it’s tough at times to manage both the blogging world and full-time job. I’m trying my best and hope that the posts I do publish inspire all my readers, and that you can relate to them.

This button up denim skirt has to be one of the most popular pieces I’ve seen around lately and it reminds me so much of my mother back in the 90’s while I was growing up and would see her in her outfits. I paired it with a simple white quarter sleeve top from Marshalls, I love the scoop neck of the top and omg, it’s like wearing clouds because of how comfortable the material is!! Since its fall and “bootie” season is back, I went with black fringe booties from Necessary Clothing – which I just so happen to live in because not only are they awesome, but they have fringe which has also been another fall trend.

I rarely do big bags because I aim for the focus to remain on the clothing and not a huge bag but I thought this bag went perfect with this look. This black Michael Kors bag reminds me of a miniature brief case (lol), I added silver accessories to pop-out the black on the purse and denim on the skirt. I was contemplating with adding a necklace or not and decided to go with no necklace because I really wanted this scoop neck to stand out. I love how simple the outfit is but it says so much, and if you need to dress it up a bit more – add a olive trench coat to this outfit and it will look amazing! A burgundy lip never hurt anyone so any dark color will work to complete this look and then, you’re Chic and fall ready!!

Summertime Sadness

That’s it peeps!! This is officially my last summer post; hence, the title. I went with an all white look since Labor day already passed haha. What saying or rule has ever stopped anyone from wearing what they wanna wear, anyway? This top is my new obsession … like for real, for real, it’s perfect in so many ways. Not only can I wear it again with a skirt but I can pair it with jeans and denim shorts. Come on people, what more can you ask for from a top?! I recently wore this top to brunch with my bestie and got caught up on her Euro trip. I went with this Ella top from Peace Love World. The top is truly amazing and to give a little bit more information for the ladies – I don’t have to wear a bra! Sorry but for those of you who know me know I’m recently obsessed with not wearing bras – yuck gross! Just the word “bra” kills me!

I went with a white mini skirt because I wanted to show the dressier side to this top. I purchased the skirt in Marshalls, and by the way people, this is my store. I know you ladies hate looking through those racks but trust me, it pays off when you come out paying $10 for a skirt that another store is selling for triple the price. I wanted to keep it neutral and classy so I stuck to nude Steve Madden heels. Omg, you would think Steve Madden pays me for advertising his shoes so much but they don’t trust me!! I just find them so comfy and so effing cute, my god! I added a rose gold envelope clutch from Rack to Closet which is so fabulous and fits everything and of course with anything white, I like to layer on necklaces and see how long it takes me to get annoyed by them choking me by the end of the night. I just find layering necklaces really gives a outfit that extra “humf” and touch. Now, farewell summer you were awesome to me but way too hot! I’m ready for it to cool down so I can start layering and wearing all my olives and fall colors.

Humming Birds

Summer style, to me, is basically dressing in summer dresses and shorts. It pains me to even have to put on jeans in this horrific heat. This off the shoulder dress is the perfect print, and the style can be worn with sandals and a belt around the waist for a lunch date. I recently wore it (Instagram) for my momma dukes b-day dinner. I love that it’s off the shoulder because it gives it that sexy yet elegant look. For sure this LA Hearts dress stole my heart and the floral pattern was just the icing on the cake. For the shoes, I went neutral with nude wedges to keep the focus all on the dress and of course, this fabulous fringe clutch from Steve Madden. I was iffy mixing the clutch with the dress but again I took the risk and I’m sorry but I did a damn good job! (lol) Hopefully this helps you ladies pull the perfect summer look.

Gossip Girl

This was the second look that AlectricVisuals asked me to put together, and something I probably would wear on a daily if I ran out of jeans and t-shirts forever. I went for this urban look instead of jeans because, like I said in the previous post “I‘m with the band,” it’s way to hot for jeans right now. This dress is honestly my LBD (Little Black Dress) for going out; to dress it down I just threw on a camo long sleeve shirt around my waist again, and called it a day! Now I was stuck on whether to wear booties or converse and went with my gut feeling and stuck with converse and I’m so happy I did because the white makes the outfit stand out that much more, and gives it that street style. On to accessories. I live by hats, and I mean if I can own every floppy color hat in the world I would. To make the outfit a little less dressed down I added this floppy hat, and love the pattern contrast between the hat and the camo patterns. Now, I know this is a risk -but hello do you know who I am, Cristina the risk taker- I’ve been dying to share my bag that I got back in December for Christmas from my lovely mother, it’s a MK messenger bag, and it’s so perfect: the colors of the camo aren’t to dark or to bright and its just the right size to fit all your necessities. I hope most you can relate to this outfit because God knows I can (lol). Stay tuned for more, and make sure to follow me on all my social media accounts!!!

Yes, I know it’s hot outside in Miami but for this top – I would rather melt than leave this hanging in my closet any longer. This top is from the new summer collection of Peace Love World and it’s to die for. Alina Villasante and the design team did an awesome job with this Ann pullover top, it can be worn so many ways with shorts and wedges or how I paired it above. My favorite part of the shirt has to be the sleeves which feature a textured knit pattern from shoulder to cuff. Also, the two gold zippers add that cool effect – you can also lift the zippers as high as you want or as low as you want. Yes, the shirt is white and arms are a off-white giving it that unique look because everyone knows Peace Love World loves making unique yet fashionable pieces. I paired this top with Free People bf jeans which I live in (lol). I decided to dress up the look and add these fabulous shoes from Justfab.com which are so comfy and affordable!!! For accessories, I went with gold layering necklaces and the double pearl choker because layering a bunch of necklaces is so in and I believe, pulls a look together. Don’t let this heat in Miami prevent you from dressing up, I usually wear this top on days I know I’m going to spend my entire time in an air conditioned building, or even to dinner (inside of course). Hopefully you girls take a risk and buy the shirt because once you buy it, it’s love at first sight!

American Woman

The 4th of July, a day celebrating the anniversary of National Independence… also known for “Who can pull together the best red, white, and blue outfit”! Pool parties, BBQ’s, beach and boats. I have been obsessed with white-cami dresses and they can be worn so many different ways. I know I say that about every outfit but look how I’ve dressed it down and dressed it up. This is going to be my exact outfit for Saturday, unless I’m in a body of water then outfit change! If you’re doing a casual BBQ with friends and family, this cami dress with the denim vest and converse is beyond perfect. If you’re doing something more dressy and it requires getting dressed, this dress with heels is perfect. Of course, I had to incorporate blue some how so why not stand out with blue Steve Madden heels and if you’re gonna add red – it can be anything! Red necklace or red lipstick … I decided on a red bandana headband with soft wavy curls, very pin-up. If the blue heels are too much, go for nude heels and add blue accessiores like my bracelet and ring, or blue nails. I hope you all enjoy your 4th of July weekend. Be safe, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE – call an Uber or have a designated driver please. Enjoy your fireworks ladies and gents!!!
