Happy Birthday Mimosa

It’s crazy how times flies and the saying: everything happens “in the blink of an eye” is so true. It’s been 2 years that I’ve been in this blogging world and even though it’s not what I envisioned because I wish I could post more often, it’s still something I take pride in and love to do. I’m always saying that I am going to be more consistent with my posts but unfortunately, we live in a world that can get unpredictable – anyway, shut up Cristina! Onto the fashion, please (lol).

“Summer Summer Summer time” Summer is unbearable in Miami, I feel like this year has been brutal … it feels like you’re a melting popsicle that has been left outside in the hot sun. This anniversary I didn’t fancy it up like I did for my first year anni. I went for a very summery look – a loose denim off-the-shoulder dress. This cute little denim dress is light and breathable for being denim material yet if you’re looking for a tighter piece, this dress also comes in a more fitting s tyle. Another item that has resurfaced after being gone for years are choker necklaces. I remember being little and wearing the black plastic ones everywhere and now they are back in style!

I have been looking for the perfect choker necklace and hadn’t really come across any that I fell in love with. I was in Hobby Lobby and decided to roam around the store and ended up in an isle that had every color suede cord and the light bulb in my head turned on to make my own necklaces. So I bought the same color cord as my shoes and made a choker – it worked out great. Onto my fav part of the outfit: my shoes! These heels are so comfortable because they have a chunky heel and the caged look is fitting on your foot. Brownie Points

Suede and button-up skirts … can you say yes? YES!!! I know you’re all probably calling me an outfit repeater but sorry, no outfit repeater over here. Even though this style is very similar to the Hide and Go chic post, the only thing that changes are obviously, the colors (but again these colors for fall are perfection: all warm tones). This skirt is comfy and so easy to pair with anything – for this look, I went a little balls deep with suede and threw in horizontal lines, leather, and lace up heels but in my opinion, it paid-off. I felt like a school girl with the backpack but let’s get real, a sexy school girl (lol) Halloween passed, Cristina!!!

The camel color on this skirt is rich and is another trending color for fall. This shirt is quarter sleeve with a scoop neck style but I love the way the outfit pops with the colors, textures and lines. I went with my infamous lace-up heels and, I have to be honest with you girls, is one of my most uncomfortable heels and would not recommend them. It’s like my foot grew overnight because it would not fit in the shoe! So if I had to pick another heel, I would definitely go with black Jeffery Campbell Litas that probably would have made this outfit that much better but … oh well, on another occasion.

This cute, leather backpack is spacious and so stylish! I usually use it when I go on vacations and need a big bag to fit all my junk. I wanted the focus to remain on the skirt and backpack purse so, I went light on the accessories. Hopefully, you enjoy this look and stay tuned for more future fall looks!

Denim Dazed

Very in this Spring and Summer has been the denim overalls and romper trend. Not just saying it because it’s one of my go-to looks, and because it just so happens to be the easiest outfit for me to put together. Not every shade of denim can be paired together to make a Texas tuxedo, it takes the right shades of denim to make it work and work right. So when I came across this denim romper in Marshalls, the image that popped into my head was the show “That’s 70 Show” something Mila Kunis would wear back then (lol). This trend is very in and I believe it’s going to stick around just like the birks, and wide leg pants have! I went for this outfit because it’s so Miami-summer appropriate not to mention it can totally be transitioned into fall, as well. I went with nude lace up heels to dress it up and give it more of a modern yet old feel. Threw on a floppy hat because it called for the occasion and my huge purse and called it a day. This is a look I would totally rock, it’s very groovy and so me (haha).

Bear Down

Okay so what can I say, this chick is so ready for her Sundays and Monday nights to go back to normal. Not only am I a fashion blogger but I just so happen to be obsessed with football and especially with the Chicago Bears!!! Since football season is back – what better way to welcome it back other than with fashion (besides the wings and beers lmao!) There is nothing worse than shopping for game day pieces and all you find are jerseys with no shape, team tees in pink, and tees with sparkles. Like come on, get real. Not every girl wears pink, and not every girl wears sparkles … especially for football apparel. I’m extremely picky when it comes to game day gear. I like team tees that I can wear with a variety of options like jeans, shorts, and sneakers. I prefer a jersey but to me, team-logo tees last longer because I can wear them year round even when football season is on hiatus.

On to the sports fashion part of the segment! I’m usually not one of those girls that goes to any sporting events with heels and all dolled up like ever, so not me! That’s more of a “WAGS” style not mine but since this is a blog, I kind of have to show the dressier side to attending a game and the casual side as well. I paired this Chicago Bears v-neck with high wasted shorts because for me to wear jeans or white pants would just not be real of me tbh. I’ve given you two options for your shoes – I know there are women out there that enjoy wearing heels or wedges because they like it so I put on my most comfiest wedges I own to give you an example of how it’ll look. My personal preference is usually sneakers and obviously, has to be team colors so blue converses it is. If it so happens to rain, I usually take a bears jacket for back up so if your team tee gets covered by your jacket – your still repping your team. Happy football season, and bear down!!

Gossip Girl

This was the second look that AlectricVisuals asked me to put together, and something I probably would wear on a daily if I ran out of jeans and t-shirts forever. I went for this urban look instead of jeans because, like I said in the previous post “I‘m with the band,” it’s way to hot for jeans right now. This dress is honestly my LBD (Little Black Dress) for going out; to dress it down I just threw on a camo long sleeve shirt around my waist again, and called it a day! Now I was stuck on whether to wear booties or converse and went with my gut feeling and stuck with converse and I’m so happy I did because the white makes the outfit stand out that much more, and gives it that street style. On to accessories. I live by hats, and I mean if I can own every floppy color hat in the world I would. To make the outfit a little less dressed down I added this floppy hat, and love the pattern contrast between the hat and the camo patterns. Now, I know this is a risk -but hello do you know who I am, Cristina the risk taker- I’ve been dying to share my bag that I got back in December for Christmas from my lovely mother, it’s a MK messenger bag, and it’s so perfect: the colors of the camo aren’t to dark or to bright and its just the right size to fit all your necessities. When you think of spring and the fashion essentials that are needed … what comes to my mind is rompers! Rompers for fashion bloggers are probably one of the easiest pieces of clothing to own. Rompers make life 1000 x easier because you don’t have to pull together a outfit from scratch. All it takes is some accessories, the right shoes and your ready to go. I wore this romper to the first ever Coral Gables Fashion Week (check it out on my Instagram @mimosaandpumps) – the colors are just right for spring, a pale pink with purple flowers. I added nude lace up heels, paired it with a nude bracelet, and the infamous purple bag that I posted for my (Fall in line) post too, which screamed my name when I walked in to the store! Valentine’s Day Outfit #2

The second outfit is for those couples that love to celebrate this day, dress up, and take Miami for what it truly is: a fun and adventurous night out. I paired a simple white dress from Forever 21, and added these divine red studded heels, that I revolved this look around. To add a little more spice to the outfit, I went with 2 simple gold necklaces, and a gold bracelet. I hope this helped some of you that were in a fashion block; even if you don’t have a bf you can totally still dress up, and take your mom or brother out on vday.

Valentine’s Day Outfit #1

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day, and what to wear omg help!!!???

Well, I’m here to make your life a little less hectic, and be a little more helpful. I decided on two outfits for today’s post: my first outfit is a casual/movie date, A pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, but this time they are a little more fitted, rather than the usual loose and baggy fit; I paired these Cotton On jeans with a plain white v- neck, also from Cotton On, which by the way, the material is like wearing clouds literally (lol). To add a bit of sexiness to the outfit, I spiced it up with nude strappy heels, and a matching clutch to give it a night life feel. To make it feel more Valentine’s Day-ish I added a red matte lipstick, and this gorgeous Channel inspired pearl necklace that I love, and it was just under $8.00. Enjoy your Valentine’s Day with whomever it shall be with that special night.

Mad for Plaid

Fall and plaid … they just go oh-so-well together, don’t you think? I have to say, plaid has been my go-to this fall. I can throw on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and to spice up the outfit – a plaid shirt! Now, when I laid eyes on this little dress … I was in love! Who wouldn’t want a plaid dress? It’s comfy, cute and can easily be dressed up or down. Believe it or not, I felt so unstoppable with this outfit. The dress was just the right length, and the height of the boots were perfect, everything came out fantastic. Not only are these boots incredibly fabulous, but aside from their look – they’re fitted so they hug the leg well! Omg… I’m drooling!

I threw on my not-so-infamous floppy hat (another go to this fall) and the looks I got in public when walking down Sunset Place with my hat covering half my face and shades hiding my eyes were awesome. With my lovely photographer, Jessica Rivas, snapping away – it just called for turning heads and serious stares. “Is she famous? Who’s that, omg look?”

I was iffy about throwing in a loud purse – I thought it would clash but I took a chance and it paid off. Being that the whole outfit is all black and white, throwing in that “loud” statement piece really worked in my favor and brought the whole outfit together. Not to mention, the bag was only $25.00 from Target! I just had to have it.

Lacy not racy

By far my favorite color for fall is: burgundy! It’s dark, mysterious, and devious. This slip-on dress is so beyond perfect and elegant … yet sexy. I gave you two looks on how to dress up this lace trim dress.

For the first look, over the dress is an oversized, off-white cardigan. A great wardrobe addition being that it can be paired with anything!!! To accessorize, a black hat to add a little sass, layered necklaces, and black heels (these in specific are are my most comfortable club heels!) 😉

For the second look, I think it leans more towards Miami. Throw on a jean jacket to spice up any outfit and it gives it more of a dinner-date feel. Fall calls for dark lipstick, and any little black bag. This outfit will be all over my Instagram just from how in love I am with it!

Oh, brownie points for me and taking chances on a online purchase orders! 🙂
