So, the summer is winding down people! It ends September 22 and that means less colorful, tropical prints and more olives and burgundies. To start my good-byes to the summer apparel, I’ve decided to go a bit crazy and show you the wacky side to me. Now, when people usually look at prints like these, they stray away … very far away (lol) but that’s the total opposite for me. I usually like to challenge myself and think: “Can I wear that? How can I wear that and where?” Then I think: “Well, yes I can wear them because I’m Cristina!” If you have a bold piece in your wardrobe – make sure to pair it with something basic and I don’t need a special occasion to wear these shorts. I live in Miami, the city of the wacky-tacky tourist!

I wore these shorts because I think there is no other better way to experiment with an outfit (since I just so happen to work in the fashion industry and receive real opinions). I went with a plain-white Logan top from Peace Love World (its on sale!!). The top can be worn so many ways like with jeans, shorts, and even leggings because of the length in the back and how it covers the bottay. I added a denim jacket because I like the contrast of the coral-orange with the white. For the shoes: I went with as, my brother likes to call them, my “Jesus sandals” (lol) not nice Chris!! But they are just so comfy and I truly wear them with everything – the color goes with everything so you can’t blame me, can you?

Something I think it makes this outfit that much better is my hair style! I don’t usually talk about hairstyle but when I asked Jessica, my photographer, if I should put it half up-half down, she didn’t even hesitate to say “omg, yes that would be so cute!!” and thank god I did because the crazy hair did it for us. If you follow me on Snapchat (cristinags) you’ll see my hair like this all the time mainly due to the heat and humidity in Miami and because it’s cute.

So, as the summer fades and the fall quickly approaches, take advantage and go ahead … pull out all those funky prints and bold colors and put them to good use before you have to wait for summer all over again! There will be one more summer post after this one and then begins those Fall posts that I’ve been counting down for!

Very in this Spring and Summer has been the denim overalls and romper trend. Not just saying it because it’s one of my go-to looks, and because it just so happens to be the easiest outfit for me to put together. Not every shade of denim can be paired together to make a Texas tuxedo, it takes the right shades of denim to make it work and work right. So when I came across this denim romper in Marshalls, the image that popped into my head was the show “That’s 70 Show” something Mila Kunis would wear back then (lol). This trend is very in and I believe it’s going to stick around just like the birks, and wide leg pants have! I went for this outfit because it’s so Miami-summer appropriate not to mention it can totally be transitioned into fall, as well. I went with nude lace up heels to dress it up and give it more of a modern yet old feel. Threw on a floppy hat because it called for the occasion and my huge purse and called it a day. This is a look I would totally rock, it’s very groovy and so me (haha).

Summer style, to me, is basically dressing in summer dresses and shorts. It pains me to even have to put on jeans in this horrific heat. This off the shoulder dress is the perfect print, and the style can be worn with sandals and a belt around the waist for a lunch date. I recently wore it (Instagram) for my momma dukes b-day dinner. I love that it’s off the shoulder because it gives it that sexy yet elegant look. For sure this LA Hearts dress stole my heart and the floral pattern was just the icing on the cake. For the shoes, I went neutral with nude wedges to keep the focus all on the dress and of course, this fabulous fringe clutch from Steve Madden. I was iffy mixing the clutch with the dress but again I took the risk and I’m sorry but I did a damn good job! (lol) Hopefully this helps you ladies pull the perfect summer look.

When you think of spring and the fashion essentials that are needed … what comes to my mind is rompers! Rompers for fashion bloggers are probably one of the easiest pieces of clothing to own. Rompers make life 1000 x easier because you don’t have to pull together a outfit from scratch. All it takes is some accessories, the right shoes and your ready to go. I wore this romper to the first ever Coral Gables Fashion Week (check it out on my Instagram @mimosaandpumps) – the colors are just right for spring, a pale pink with purple flowers. I added nude lace up heels, paired it with a nude bracelet, and the infamous purple bag that I posted for my (Fall in line) post too, which screamed my name when I walked in to the store! Had to buy it! 20150507-RIV_343220150507-RIV_3438 20150507-RIV_3444 20150507-RIV_3445 20150507-RIV_3450 20150507-RIV_3464 20150507-RIV_3467 20150507-RIV_3471 20150507-RIV_3472 20150507-RIV_3473 20150507-RIV_3504 20150507-RIV_3560 20150507-RIV_3576 20150507-RIV_3616 20150507-RIV_3618 What are your spring essentials?
