Happy Birthday Mimosa

It’s crazy how times flies and the saying: everything happens “in the blink of an eye” is so true. It’s been 2 years that I’ve been in this blogging world and even though it’s not what I envisioned because I wish I could post more often, it’s still something I take pride in and love to do. I’m always saying that I am going to be more consistent with my posts but unfortunately, we live in a world that can get unpredictable – anyway, shut up Cristina! Onto the fashion, please (lol).

“Summer Summer Summer time” Summer is unbearable in Miami, I feel like this year has been brutal … it feels like you’re a melting popsicle that has been left outside in the hot sun. This anniversary I didn’t fancy it up like I did for my first year anni. I went for a very summery look – a loose denim off-the-shoulder dress. This cute little denim dress is light and breathable for being denim material yet if you’re looking for a tighter piece, this dress also comes in a more fitting s tyle. Another item that has resurfaced after being gone for years are choker necklaces. I remember being little and wearing the black plastic ones everywhere and now they are back in style!

I have been looking for the perfect choker necklace and hadn’t really come across any that I fell in love with. I was in Hobby Lobby and decided to roam around the store and ended up in an isle that had every color suede cord and the light bulb in my head turned on to make my own necklaces. So I bought the same color cord as my shoes and made a choker – it worked out great. Onto my fav part of the outfit: my shoes! These heels are so comfortable because they have a chunky heel and the caged look is fitting on your foot. Hide and Go Chic

Once again, I’m a little bit late to the fall trending pieces however, I work full-time so it’s tough at times to manage both the blogging world and full-time job. I’m trying my best and hope that the posts I do publish inspire all my readers, and that you can relate to them.

This button up denim skirt has to be one of the most popular pieces I’ve seen around lately and it reminds me so much of my mother back in the 90’s while I was growing up and would see her in her outfits. I paired it with a simple white quarter sleeve top from Marshalls, I love the scoop neck of the top and omg, it’s like wearing clouds because of how comfortable the material is!! Since its fall and “bootie” season is back, I went with black fringe booties from Necessary Clothing – which I just so happen to live in because not only are they awesome, but they have fringe which has also been another fall trend.

I rarely do big bags because I aim for the focus to remain on the clothing and not a huge bag but I thought this bag went perfect with this look. This black Michael Kors bag reminds me of a miniature brief case (lol), I added silver accessories to pop-out the black on the purse and denim on the skirt. I was contemplating with adding a necklace or not and decided to go with no necklace because I really wanted this scoop neck to stand out. I love how simple the outfit is but it says so much, and if you need to dress it up a bit more – add a olive trench coat to this outfit and it will look amazing! A burgundy lip never hurt anyone so any dark color will work to complete this look and then, you’re Chic and fall ready!!

Basic Festival Bitch

I know this is harsh but it’s true and I’m here to help those girls that don’t want to go as dressed up to festivals and think crop tops and just shorts are going to do. If you think neon colors, pasties, bodysuits, high tops, graphic 90’s tee’s are festival material – you’re half way wrong! Unless you attend Ultra, that’s a whole other story because then that’s some what acceptable.
So I decided to take the basic essentials and dress those up just a tad and make a chic-yet-boho look. Crochet or lace are a must for me… it’s probably the only occasion I can wear those and not to mention this shirt is crochet, off the shoulder, and cropped. Instead of going for high wasted jean shorts, I switched it up and added color by wearing colored shorts. Since this post is mainly for Coachella Weekend 2, day 2 or 3 – I added a floral headband (which is inexpensive and gives it that final touch) that brings the entire outfit together perfectly.

Now ladies… I know Converses are comfortable and I’m not saying I won’t wear them, I’m saying I’d probably wear them with a dress instead of shorts. So with this look, I went for camel-colored snake skin print booties, they are totally fab and not to mention Kendall Jenner wore all snake skin booties this year to Coachella! Add some circle sunnies and your going from “basic bitch” to Basically Fab!

Valentine’s Day Outfit #2

The second outfit is for those couples that love to celebrate this day, dress up, and take Miami for what it truly is: a fun and adventurous night out. I paired a simple white dress from Forever 21, and added these divine red studded heels, that I revolved this look around. To add a little more spice to the outfit, I went with 2 simple gold necklaces, and a gold bracelet. I hope this helped some of you that were in a fashion block; even if you don’t have a bf you can totally still dress up, and take your mom or brother out on vday.

Valentine’s Day Outfit #1

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day, and what to wear omg help!!!???

Well, I’m here to make your life a little less hectic, and be a little more helpful. I decided on two outfits for today’s post: my first outfit is a casual/movie date, A pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, but this time they are a little more fitted, rather than the usual loose and baggy fit; I paired these Cotton On jeans with a plain white v- neck, also from Cotton On, which by the way, the material is like wearing clouds literally (lol). To add a bit of sexiness to the outfit, I spiced it up with nude strappy heels, and a matching clutch to give it a night life feel. To make it feel more Valentine’s Day-ish I added a red matte lipstick, and this gorgeous Channel inspired pearl necklace that I love, and it was just under $8.00. Enjoy your Valentine’s Day with whomever it shall be with that special night.

Fall in Line

Hello love bugs it’s been a while again and I’m so sorry I’m always late on posting but my life just gets crazier and crazier by the second seriously. So while rummaging through my “shopping mall” which my friends just so happen to call my closet that lol, I found this hot little number! This look is so me, you can rock this on a dinner date, bar hopping night, basically anything that has the words night life written all over it.

Distressed denim, surprise surprise I wasn’t lying when I said I crave and need distressed denim in my life. Surprisingly so these jeans are from Forever21, and though it did take a little getting used to. I just feel they don’t flatter my assets the way my favorite jeans would, but the jeans are an awesome accessory to any outfit, they get the job done. The striped crop top is also from Forever21, the top can be paired with practically anything a skater skirt, leather shorts, you name it and for the price $10.00 who wouldn’t buy that? The military inspired vest I got as a birthday gift from my sissy in law and it’s so me. I love that it has mesh in the back and you can see the striped shirt too, doesn’t hide the shirt how any regular old vest usually would. So brownie points for the sissy in law, she knows me oh so well already lmao.

On to the details, the shoes another Forever21 item. Merely enough they are high yet comfortable, and not to mention the same material as the back of the vest. In my opinion they add the sexiness to the outfit along with the lipstick; I like to call it fate, what I’m I saying? Of course it’s fate duhhh. On to Lipstick talk! Heroin, from Mac. I’ve heard so many things about this lipstick and the first time I saw it I was like wow bright but who better to try it then me haha 😀 I believe it added just the right amount of pop to the outfit and the matte finish is my favorite. The bag, oh this bag that had me on a man hunt to find a bag that would liven up this outfit just give it that wow factor, and Jesus did I hit the nail on the head with it. I went everywhere looking for a purple bag, but just not any purple the right purple and low and behold Target of all places. The bag was right there as I walked in bam in your face sitting there waiting for me to scoop it up and debit please to the cashier!!!!

I hope this inspired you to not be afraid to throw in a little pop of color to any black and white outfit you may be wearing. Toddle loves until next time.

Mad for Plaid

Fall and plaid … they just go oh-so-well together, don’t you think? I have to say, plaid has been my go-to this fall. I can throw on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and to spice up the outfit – a plaid shirt! Now, when I laid eyes on this little dress … I was in love! Who wouldn’t want a plaid dress? It’s comfy, cute and can easily be dressed up or down. Believe it or not, I felt so unstoppable with this outfit. The dress was just the right length, and the height of the boots were perfect, everything came out fantastic. Not only are these boots incredibly fabulous, but aside from their look – they’re fitted so they hug the leg well! Omg… I’m drooling!

I threw on my not-so-infamous floppy hat (another go to this fall) and the looks I got in public when walking down Sunset Place with my hat covering half my face and shades hiding my eyes were awesome. With my lovely photographer, Jessica Rivas, snapping away – it just called for turning heads and serious stares. “Is she famous? Who’s that, omg look?”

I was iffy about throwing in a loud purse – I thought it would clash but I took a chance and it paid off. Being that the whole outfit is all black and white, throwing in that “loud” statement piece really worked in my favor and brought the whole outfit together. Not to mention, the bag was only $25.00 from Target! I just had to have it.

Lacy not racy

By far my favorite color for fall is: burgundy! It’s dark, mysterious, and devious. This slip-on dress is so beyond perfect and elegant … yet sexy. I gave you two looks on how to dress up this lace trim dress.

For the first look, over the dress is an oversized, off-white cardigan. A great wardrobe addition being that it can be paired with anything!!! To accessorize, a black hat to add a little sass, layered necklaces, and black heels (these in specific are are my most comfortable club heels!) 😉

For the second look, I think it leans more towards Miami. Throw on a jean jacket to spice up any outfit and it gives it more of a dinner-date feel. Fall calls for dark lipstick, and any little black bag. This outfit will be all over my Instagram just from how in love I am with it!

Oh, brownie points for me and taking chances on a online purchase orders! 🙂

Fierce, No Fear!

Fall has arrived and this chick is totally ready to dress the part. To me, October equals fall season which equals burgundies, neutrals, off whites, blacks, plaids, and awesome waffle sweaters. This outfit is totally me being casual yet fabulous!!! When going for plaid, try and stick to darker plaid colors, lighter plaid colors are more for summer and spring. Now, everyone must know already that Cristina pairs everything with distressed denim (lol). So, I paired these with some awesome, super comfy, thick heels. Without the fur – the outfit holds its dressy look for a night out with girlfriends, dinner, or a night out on the town. For accessories, gold necklace and cuff were my choices to pop it out. No rings, no watch and wahh-laaaa, first fall outfit!!!!!

P.S. Sorry for the delay but I’ve been working like crazy and been under the weather lately. Hopefully, I stay on track and keep posting for all my love bugs<3

World Peace

“What is one important thing our society needs? That would be harsher punishment for parole violators, Stan. Oh and World Peace!” -Gracie Lou Freebush (Miss Congeniality).

What’s a better topic to discuss than World Peace – with all this hatred/coming together going on all around the world. Well, it just so happens that I work at Peace Love World, where we aim to spread peace, love, and happiness around the world.

This shirt expresses every word I’m about to say, feel, and think. Do we not live in 2014? Because for a sec, I feel like the 1940’s is slowly creeping up on us. Racism and killings, are you kidding me! We shouldn’t be fighting each other because of the color of our skin. Who cares if we’re blue, green, or polka dot!!! We should fight for one another. We are all brothers and sisters, regardless of our skin color, or ethnic background. Stand up for one another, it takes more energy to fight and argue than to leave in peace. Protect those you love and give a helping hand to the ones you don’t know. Prime example is the recent ALS ice bucket challenge – millions coming together to raise awareness for a disease not many people were familiar with. Now millions know and millions have donated to help those in need. Everyday a new story is broadcasted, about a new killing of a young man shot dead. Enough is enough, why are we murdering the kids that are our future!

Rather than holding onto this outfit and passage for a later post, I chose to do this post and style session now because it does mean a lot to me. Plus, what better way to express a world wide concern than with words and fashion! I paired this Peace Love World basic-go-to shirt with a black (very distressed) denim. Every time I wear them, I receive two totally different compliments! Either “Ohmygod, where did you get those pants? They are awesome!” or “Hey, did you fall or jump a fence and get caught!? (lol!!) I personally love distressed anything because I love the old, rugged, and tough persona it gives off. I didn’t want to give the impression of mourning something, so what better way than my go to floppy hat, and loud statement necklace.

This shirt has become very popular with big celebrities, and i mean big!!! Oprah Winfrey, Ricky Martin, Wyclef Jean, and of course, Alina Villasante (creator and visionary of Peace Love World). These are examples on how to spread awareness, all while looking fab. This shirt is more of a fashion statement like, “I’m a fashionista and my shirt means business buddy!” So go ahead and support a good cause – a portion of the proceeds from purchasing this shirt goes to The American Red Cross Foundation.
