February 14 the day the world splits in two and there is only two opinions either your head over heels in love, or your talking shit about every stupid romantic insta quote or couple picture you see. Come on now we have all been guilty of doing at least one of these in our lifetime. I like Valentine’s Day but since being with my boyfriend, we have switched it up we now celebrate it the day after on Feb 15 when everyone is home and the restaurants are back to normal and don’t have wait times of an hour or more. We started this last year which worked out very well and I really enjoyed it because what’s a calendar to tell me when I have to celebrate love day, not happening.

On to gift Ideas I know most people are either stuck on what the hell to buy their loved ones, and then there are others that pay attention when there boyfriend/girlfriend talk. Unlike those people I like to make my own DIY gifts because I feel like it means more than going to a store and buying something. Last year I bought a valentine’s day box and filled it with confetti, I bought all his favorite candies every size and filled the box with those. I purchased mini bottles of all his favorite liquor for example 2 fireballs, 2 Johnny Walker Black Label, and 2 Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire no ladies and gents he’s not a drunk he’s a man’s man  who can drink whisky (lol). I then cut out 6 heart shaped papers and wrote cute silly drunk quotes on each heart, I then tied the hearts with red string around the bottle. Hopefully this gets your artistic juices flowing and makes you want to make your own gift for your loved one this year. For my single peeps no worries throw on your favorite movie order your favorite take out to avoid the long wait times and have your own day, or you can do the Miami thing and grab all your single friends and go out and forget its Valentine’s Day.

I Think In Pink

I’m back, bitchessssss!!!!! After a long hiatus, I’m back and I’m here for good (I promise). I intend to stay and slay *Beyonce voice*. The start to my 2016 was very rough and I let that get my spirits down in a way I shouldn’t have. The only good thing I got out of the new year was my awesome boyfriend! Let’s save that for another time, on to the fashion. Spring time has arrived and it’s my favorite season … well, maybe I’m being a bit bias because it just so happens to be my birthday month, too! Happy Birthday to me!!!

When I saw this dress I could not stop thinking about it because the colors just so happen to be the go-to colors announced for Spring. When I first heard of the colors, I was hesitant because I didn’t know how Rose Quartz and Serenity (which are pale pink and pale blue colors) would mix in a outfit. When I put this outfit together – I initially went with a nude bag and a pair of nude heels but then stopped myself and thought: “What would happen if you threw in a pop of color to bring out the dress, Cristina?” It’s true what they say: “Always go with your gut feeling because it will never disappoint you.”
When I saw the outfit hanging on the hanger, I fell head over heels for the color contrast. As for footwear, I went with simple nude heels to keep the focus on the dress and bag … oh and not to mention my crazy hair-bun (lol)! Hopefully this helps you to stretch your color pallet by taking risks and mixing colors you normally wouldn’t. Happy Birthday to me and to all my April/Aries babies! May your birthday be filled with love, health, and prosperity.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Day 2, we chose Disney’s Animal Kingdom because I haven’t been to this park in ages … literally can’t remember when actually. So for this park I went with my own outfit and not a custom t-shirt like how we usually do . This actually was not my original planned outfit – I was going to go with a t-shirt dress, but because of how hot it was and the humidity, I switched it up last minute. I went with this outfit because it’s honestly the most comfortable and so simple. A basic black t-shirt, denim shorts, and pink converse. For the hundredth time, a l/s shirt tied around my waist … it’s so my thing if you haven’t already noticed. Since I was going to be doing a lot of walking, I went with sneakers instead of slip ons and went with these low-top pink converse to add color to the outfit and match my new pink Minnie mouse ears. Once again, this was not planned. We actually were talking the night before about what to wear and we just so happened to pick pink (lmao). This time we didn’t do the whole head-to-toe twin look but it definitely looks planned and it wasn’t, oops! Hopefully you enjoyed my outfits and my mini-vacay to Disney with my best friend, Kristi.

Promise I will have fall outfits up soon and will try to keep in mind the places that do get that nice fall weather and season changes to get cute outfits for you all!!

Happy 1st Birthday Mimosa and Pumps!!!

Photography: Jessica Rivas

I can’t believe that it’s been one year since I started this incredible journey! Happy birthday to my baby, my pride, and joy. I’m over the moon and very proud of myself for putting on my big girl panties and deciding to start this fashion blog! It hasn’t been easy but it’s been worth every single step. I’m so happy I’ve been able to collaborate with such amazing people like AlectricVisuals and attend so many events, and was even asked to be a special guest blogger for the first time at the Fashom event I attended.

Now on to all the mushy-gushy stuff (I feel like I’m receiving an award! lol), I want to thank everyone – especially my friends and family who have pushed me and told me to follow my heart and dreams and never give up because I belong in this blogger world. I want to thank my mom and brother who put up with my annoying a**! and all my questions: “Does this outfit go with these shoes?” “Does this outfit look good together?” (lmao) 😀 To the most important person, the one I owe the biggest thank you to, is Jessica Rivas. The lady behind the lens, without her my blog would not be here and wouldn’t have the most amazing pictures it has today. I would be so lost without you and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do for me and this blog. I love you and appreciate you so much. To all my love bugs (my followers), my blog would not be as successful as it is without you – thank you all for your constant support, means so much to me, I love you all!!!

On to the fashion portion, my specialty! I wanted to do a completely different look than what I usually go for. I wanted to choose a fancy, classy yet fabulous outfit. I went with this navy blue midi-skirt from Agaci which I instantly fell in love with. I was iffy because of the length and puffiness but the hell with it! My height isn’t going to stop me from wearing this gorgeous piece. For the top: I was debating on this top or a similar one in white lace and decided to stick with this one because I wanted the focus to remain on the skirt and shoes. These shoes are to die for … right? lol I wanted something more appropriate because of the fanciness of the skirt and since I didn’t have much color on, I went with a pop of color on the shoes. The jewelry i went for a very minimal touch because I was focused on the cup of mimosa (duh, it is my blog name) and of course, had to do the balloons and confetti – it’s a party!! Thanks again to everyone that has showed support and so much love, I appreciate it and can’t wait to continue to grow and collaborate on this catwalk.

DSC07349 DSC07374 DSC07379 DSC07324 I know this isn’t the outfit you envision when stepping out of your home, and into this 90 degree Miami weather but like they say, “beauty is pain”. When AlectricVisuals reached out to me and said she wanted to do a summertime urban look, I knew just the outfits to pull together. So, obviously you can’t go out anywhere with jeans on, so shorts are all you’ll be seeing this summer, I guarantee you. I just didn’t want to throw on a graphic tee- that’s just not me- unless I’m dressing it up, and since this was a more urban casual look, I went with a faux black vest, and a plaid shirt tied around my waist. Now if any one knows me, you know I’m obsessed with tying any long sleeve around my waist and calling it a day, it’s my current obsession. Now I only wore this beanie because it matched the whole look but I don’t recommend wearing a beanie now, because not only will you mess up your perfect hair that you worked on all morning for, but also I’m assuming your head will probably catch on fire because of the oven we are currently living in (lol). If you want to wear something on your head go for a baseball cap, not a beanie. And, also, add some accessories and your set to hit up Wynwood and go bar hopping with this look.

When you think of spring and the fashion essentials that are needed … what comes to my mind is rompers! Rompers for fashion bloggers are probably one of the easiest pieces of clothing to own. Rompers make life 1000 x easier because you don’t have to pull together a outfit from scratch. All it takes is some accessories, the right shoes and your ready to go. I wore this romper to the first ever Coral Gables Fashion Week (check it out on my Instagram @mimosaandpumps) – the colors are just right for spring, a pale pink with purple flowers. I added nude lace up heels, paired it with a nude bracelet, and the infamous purple bag that I posted for my (Fall in line) post too, which screamed my name when I walked in to the store! Had to buy it! 20150507-RIV_343220150507-RIV_3438 20150507-RIV_3444 20150507-RIV_3445 20150507-RIV_3450 20150507-RIV_3464 20150507-RIV_3467 20150507-RIV_3471 20150507-RIV_3472 20150507-RIV_3473 20150507-RIV_3504 20150507-RIV_3560 20150507-RIV_3576 20150507-RIV_3616 20150507-RIV_3618 What are your spring essentials? Valentine’s Day Outfit #2

The second outfit is for those couples that love to celebrate this day, dress up, and take Miami for what it truly is: a fun and adventurous night out. I paired a simple white dress from Forever 21, and added these divine red studded heels, that I revolved this look around. To add a little more spice to the outfit, I went with 2 simple gold necklaces, and a gold bracelet. I hope this helped some of you that were in a fashion block; even if you don’t have a bf you can totally still dress up, and take your mom or brother out on vday.
